1994 5unit Ireland Irish International Collectors Fair Souvenir Phonecard showing Ringmoney (Landis & Gyr) BT Phone Card

This is the first in a set of phonecards' illustrating the history of Ireland's coinage, and of the Royal Hospital Kilmainham, venue of the Irish International Collectors Fair

The side of the Royal Hospital has been a place of healing and hospitality for thousands of years, originally, in celtic times, it was renowned for its scared spring. This phonecard depicts a celtic chieftain paying homage at the scared spring. The logo for the 1994 Fair incorporates a price of gold celtic ringmoney, Ireland's earliest currency, which was often disturbed by chieftans to their loyal followers.
