Antique perfume bottle from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries
An antique perfume bottle made of twisted crystal glass, featuring a brass stopper adorned with traditional embroidery.
The bottle's body is crafted from thick, clear glass with raised spiral fluting (often referred to as a "swirl" or "bamboo swirl" pattern). Such decorative glass motifs were highly popular among French manufacturers, such as Baccarat, at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries.
The patinated brass cap features decorative, engraved edges in a Neoclassical style.
The top of the stopper is finished with a fabric medallion featuring intricate, miniature floral embroidery in the *petit point* style (a type of tapestry stitch with a very fine weave).
Bottles of this type were luxury accessories for ladies' dressing tables at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries (the Belle Époque or Art Nouveau period) or were part of elegant travel sets (vanity sets).
