Guido de Fontgalland, Servant of God, was considered during the inter-war period to be the youngest non-martyr candidate to Catholic sainthood. He was born on November 30, 1913 in Paris, France. His beatification process was opened on November 15, 1941.
He was the son of Count Pierre Heurard de Fontgalland, lawyer, and Marie Renée Mathevon. She had thought about entering as a Carmelite, and he was a militant Catholic. The Bishop of Gibergues, a friend of the family, introduced them to each other and united them in marriage. He baptized their son with the name of Guido Pierre Emmanuel on December 7, 1913 in St. Augustine Church.
