Dutch Art Deco 'Haagse School' Armchair (Mid Century c. 1920s/30s)
Striking armchair from the Dutch Haagse School movement. If you’re a fan of Art Deco but prefer a cleaner, more architectural look than the typical "fussy" antiques, this is a perfect piece.
It’s a classic example of 1920s/30s Dutch Modernism. With the iconic wide, flat armrests and a low, geometric backrest, it brings really strong presence in a room without taking up too much visual space.
Material: Heavy tiger teak with a rich, dark finish.
Seat: Comfortable black leather seat that’s still in great shape.
Condition: Really sturdy and stable. It has a lovely vintage patina that you only get with age, but no major damage.
Style: It’s often called "Dutch Art Deco" - more refined than the Amsterdam School and a bit more "livable" than De Stijl.
Dimensions:
Height: ~80-88cm
Width: ~60cm
Seat Height: ~50cm
This is a solid, well-made piece of design history that looks just as good in a modern apartment as it does in a period home.
