1976 Videomaster Superscore VM-8 Pong Console

1976 Videomaster Superscore VM-8 Pong Console 1976 Videomaster Superscore VM-8 Pong Console Arcade & Retro

For sale is a fantastic example of gaming history: the Videomaster Superscore (Model VM-8), released in 1976 by the British company Videomaster.
This is one of the earliest home TV video game consoles, a true first-generation Pong-style system that brought arcade-style gaming into Irish and UK living rooms. It uses the classic General Instrument AY-3-8500 chipset and was available both as a kit and fully assembled.
Key Features & Games:
• Tennis (on-screen scoring & realistic hit sounds)
• Football
• Squash
• Solo (single player practice)
• Supports optional pistol shooting games (AUX 1 & AUX 2) – the ports are present for the classic electronic gun add-on
Condition:
• Console unit: Immaculate – looks practically brand new with no scratches, marks, or yellowing. Extremely clean for a 49-year-old piece of tech.
• Fully tested and working perfectly – powers on, all games playable, controls responsive, excellent picture and sound on modern TVs (via RF connection).
• Original box included – shows honest storage wear from nearly 50 years (tears, scuffs, tape) but is complete with all original artwork and instructions.
This is a genuine piece of British/Irish gaming heritage. Very few survive in this kind of cosmetic condition. Perfect for collectors of early video games, Pong systems, or 1970s electronics. David Winter’s Pong Rarity Guide lists similar examples, and complete working units with box are becoming increasingly hard to find.
Great display piece or fully playable nostalgia machine. A real conversation starter!
