Its a 4 cylinder 1.9 petrol engine...I changed the cooler loop on the Z3 and I changed the power steering reservouir ..thinking the gunk went into the filter of the reservour...but still no turn on the steering when stopped at a junction...only hard force to move the wheel ...have ordered a new pump now on ebay ...I cant think of anything else ...it was perfect until i changed the rotten loop

@Shaun Johnson hi I don’t have one but I’ve had issues with z3 power steering pumps and find if you give it a few taps with a small hammer they loosen up in or if you can separate the block control unit and put back together it will start working again . I think they seize up due to not much use .
