Vintage 1968 Gibson LG0
Really lovely, all original 1968 Gibson LG0.
This is an all mahogany guitar with some of the sweetest, dry, woody tones you are ever going to hear. This beauty plays effortlessly on a brand new set of Elixers and is in fantastic condition for a 58 year old Gibson.
It has all the desirable features too coming from the pre Norlin era without the volute on the base of the headstock. It is totally crack and break free and is ladder braced. Two of the original tuner shafts are slightly bent but work perfectly and don’t affect the guitar in any way. There are a few small marks here and there but really not very much for a guitar of this age.
The Gibson LG0 is a smaller bodied guitar, probably a little bigger than a Martin 00 model and has a slightly shorter 24 ¾ inch scale so is really comfortable to play.
It has a beautiful understated look to it, the only real adornment being the lovely tortoiseshell body binding. The binding is fully intact and in excellent condition which is uncommon as almost all of them from the era have some kind of binding issues.
This is a pretty rare guitar these days and a great opportunity to grab a vintage 1960s Gibson at a very good price.
I’m selling this for a friend who no longer lives in Ireland so am not open to trades on this. This is very reasonably priced for vintage 58 year old Gibson in such nice condition as he is keen to move it on.
It comes with an old canvass type gig bag which is not original the guitar.
Thanks
