Martin 1971 D35 Martin 1971 D35 Acoustic Guitars
€2,250

This guitar plays and sounds great with low action and plenty of saddle but it has endured some mistreatment and careless ownership over its 55 years of life.

It has had a neck reset and bridge replacement as the 70s Martin bridges were often misplaced. This work has left evidence and bruising on the top and on the fretboard extension. Aside from the visual blemishes and dings this work has given the guitar a new lease of life and it is fitted with a pickup and ready to go again.

The middle section of its 3 piece back appears to be possibly Brazilian rosewood which they stopped using in 1969 but the 3 piece back was invented to use up off cuts of rosewood from traditional 2 piece backs so it is apparently possible that there were some pieces of Brazilian still being used in d35 backs in early 70s. I can't say this for sure but it might be.

This comes in its original Martin 'steal me' case from the early 70s. These were notoriously controversial as people saw the case and stole the guitar as Martin's were the top dog in the acoustic world at the time.

This is a lovely guitar that is a little slice of history in itself.

Open to trades.
