===================================

Selling a vintage/antique archtop Gibson L-1 acoustic guitar from 1918 -- the year Orville Gibson died. You won't find many of these in Ireland, or probably even in Europe.

Tuners are StewMac golden age square plates in relic nickle. Newer bridge. Tailpiece is a faithful reproduction of the curious plastic-bar type trapeze, but repro is made of modern acrylic rather than the original celluloid that is prone to rotting. The metal part is a c.1950 nickle unit very similar to an original.

Set up with D'Addario 11s. High E 12th fret action set at 3/32" (~3 mm), which plays comfortably but allows for an aggressive attack without undue string buzzing. It can easily go down another mm without any dead frets or cut-outs. Plays respectably at 4 mm or even a little higher if you're really aggressive, or double on slide.

The frets are pretty decent - surprisingly level for a guitar this old. Gibson was using modern alloys for their frets even in 1918. If they were brass they'd be long gone.

Includes a nice Japanese Aria classical guitar case from the seventies, which is lightweight, but is a plywood hard shell with thick padding.
