Lachenal "Edeophone" 56-key English system concertina
Professional-quality, top-of-the-range, Lachenal 12-sided "Edeophone" 56-key treble English-system concertina (#49225, made in 1909).
I've played this instrument for half a century, having found it in London's Portobello Road Antiques Market back then, when I was a student, and I had it restored, including re-tuning and a new bellows, at the concertina-makers H. Crabb's on Liverpool Road, Islington. But I unexpectedly got offered the very rare, and very beautiful, de-luxe amboyna-wood version of the same model (the concertina of my dreams!), so I'm now selling this one, at a bargain price for the quality of it.
It's playing well, and the only blemish (which was there when I got it) is thumb wear and a crack in the right-hand end where the thumb strap is attached (if you're not careful with them, Edeophones can easily roll off a table!) - but it was like that when I got it and has never given any trouble, in all the years that I've had it.
With its original leather case.
Can be seen/collected at Skibbereen/Ballydehob/Bantry, or posted at cost.
